Christmas Poster Competition and other news

Christmas Poster competition

We are going to hold a Christmas poster contest for the children of members who are between 5 and 10 years old.

The posters, one per participant, and on the theme of Christmas, will be presented in DIN A4 format and can be in black and white or color.

Those interested in participating can deliver their work on Saturdays, between 12 noon and 1 pm, in the Golf Club cafeteria, where there will be a member of the Board of Directors.

The competition  will be open until Saturday, December 12.

The winning drawing will appear in the Association’s electronic greetings for Christmas 2020.

Golf club closure

The golf club at Costa Esuri has released the following statement on Facebook.

Dear Members of Valle Guadiana Links and Isla Canela Old Course.
Due to the situation derived from Covid 19 and the mobility restrictions imposed by the Junta de Andalucia and the Government of Spain, we have an occupation of the golf courses that makes the maintenance of activity in both clubs owned by Isla Canela S.A. unfeasible, for that reason we are forced to adopt the following measures:
The golf course will close on Friday, November 13, 2020, with no scheduled reopening date. The opening  will depend on the evolution of the health situation and the restrictions imposed by the competent authorities.
During the closing period, all Valle Guadiana Links members may use the Isla Canela Old Course facilities.
For those subscribers who have contracted the clubs custody service, a space will be set up for their storage.
An attempt will be made to move the reserved tee times from Friday, November 13 at Valle Guadiana Links, to the same times at Isla Canela Old Course, without being able to ensure that they are exactly the same. Please check with the Isla Canela Old Course reception.
Those members of both courses (VGL + ICOC membership) who cannot enjoy Valle Guadiana Links during the closing period, will be compensated proportionally to the period that the course remains closed. It will proceed in the same way, with the contracted locker service.
Maintenance work in the field will continue to be carried out, focusing our efforts on the  fairways and rought.
We are aware of the inconvenience that this situation may cause to you, but we are convinced that this decision will allow us to withstand this period of crisis and even reactivate the activity with more courage.
We take the opportunity to remind you about the importance and obligation to comply with each of the approved sanitary measures, (use of masks, maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters  and wash hands frequently).
We greatly appreciate your collaboration and understanding and we remain at your disposal for any clarification you may require.

Demonstration at the town hall

The Committee had planned to hold a demonstration in front of the town hall on 7 December to protest about various issues affecting Costa Esuri.

Due to the new restrictions imposed by the government of Andalucia this has been postponed to a later date.
